Hacienda is one of the great unsung bands of the last 15+ years. South Texas Soul that Rocks! You know, like Sir Douglas, Roky, ZZ, Sunny, and Freddy. The great shit.
Their debut album, “Loud Is The Night”(2008) was produced by Dan Auerbach (Black Keys), made in Akron and led to the band becoming Dan’s backing band for his solo work. I loved that album and became obsessed with seeing Hacienda live wherever I could – LA, Austin, Philly, Ann Arbor and other gigs forgotten to time. NEVER DISAPPOINTED! A few years later I signed Hacienda and Dan produced the critically acclaimed record, “Shakedown." Sadly, nothing much happened (except some great synchs) and
Hacienda essentially broke up. That was 2012.
Fast forward 10 years and I get a call from the band – “hey, we got together for a weekend at a cabin out in West Texas and made a new record, we
want you to put it out.” I said sure without hearing a note – once great, always great! But I had no idea Oaxaca Sun would be a psych-inspired guitar record, complete with sounds straight out of Peyote country. I can only imagine what was happening in that cabin.
FOR BEST RESULTS, PLAY LOUD!!!
