McCoy Tyner has played with some of the all time Jazz Greats - Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson and so many more - Over 300 appearances! After an incredible run of amazing Impulse recordings after and during his time with Coltrane, he signed with Blue Note and delivered this brilliant session as a leader.  

 McCoy is backed up here by drummer Elvin Jones as well as the incomparable bass of Ron Carter, and the spirited tenor of Joe Henderson. The record contains all Tyner originals – including "Passion Dance", "Blues On The Corner", and perhaps his finest moment with "Search for Peace"!

Side note, I've been bidding and losing on Japanese pressings of this record for months now...I'll finally have an LP worthy of being a Slow Down Select!  

 The Blue Note Classic Series is putting the legendary Blue Note catalog back in print in wonderful sound quality. The jackets are not "tip ons" like the originals but with the cost of original Blue Notes out of reach for most record collectors these days it's great to have these reissues - from analog tape no less!
